Bansal Residence

My Hyderabad-based clients fancied a cozy yet easy-to-maintain retirement home. The approach I took was minimalist—no-fuss but elegant and personal. In the living area, I used a primarily neutral color palette to keep it simple yet lively, with just the right amount of drama to highlight certain areas.

A unique part of the space was a separate room my clients could use to meditate or read for long hours. The meditation room overlooked a beautiful wooded area with rock formations and water bodies, often frequented by free-roaming deer. Inspired by this view, I designed the room with organic details such as wooden flooring, rafters on the ceiling, a low bed, a handwoven kalamkari rug, khadi silk drapes, etc. The other parts of the house also had some unique features that gave it an interesting character of its own.

Overall, the space was sewn together seamlessly, with a clean elegance that reflected the love and warmth of the family living in it.
